Paint correction
Chasing perfection? Maybe you are a car enthusiast or you want to get your car ready for an upcoming show or car meet. Wherever you fall in these categories we got you covered. Here at The Detail Dorks we currently offer 2 out of the 4 stages of paint correction. Using the least aggressive method necessary for your vehicle in order to preserve the most clear coat possible. We always start you off right with a proper cleaning and decontamination before we move towards chasing perfection. After correcting your vehicle we make sure to decontaminate any left over polish and seal this masterpiece with your choice of ceramic coating!
*Only available in the shop or if your car fits in your garage*
Stage 1
"The Polish"
The “Polish”! Polishes usually removes light swirl marks and minor scratches. Usually used on like new paint or if you want to enhance the gloss of your paint. Always the last to be used and considered the least aggressive method in paint correction

Stage 2
“The Cut and Polish”
The “Cut and Polish”! Two different stages of correction. Before Polishing your vehicle, we use a cutting compound to level out most imperfections. After a few passes we move into stage one to restore the shine and gloss to your vehicle. Most people are happy with the results at this stage and anything past this stage is usually more costly. The law of diminishing returns really comes into effect after this stage. (Any scratch that you can’t feel when you run your finger nail through is usually able to be removed)

Stage 3
“Close Shave”
Currently Unavailable
Stage 3 gets you 10% closer to perfection. A multi stage cut is performed and we chase after any correctable imperfection. After this service is performed, only a trained eye with a vendetta will say your paints not perfect!

Stage 4
“Perfection”
Currently Unavailable
Stage 4 is our most aggressive stage yet. Not recommended for anyone unless your paint is salvageable and has enough clear coat to perform this delicate procedure. This stage usually calls for wet sanding and is usually conducted on vehicles that are newly painted and is experiencing unwanted orange peel. Hopefully your car does not need this stage, but if it does we have you covered!

Being new to the Dallas Area, we currently do not have the space to properly perform this level of correction. It will however be available in the future as our most premium package!
-
Yes and no! The correction portion can usually be done anywhere, but best done in a climate controlled area. A long term ceramic coating however needs a proper environment to cure, which is why we only offer this service to people with garage spaces until we have a shop opened up to properly allow the car to cure.

It depends on the type of service you are requesting and the size and condition of your vehicle. So the service can range anywhere between 2-8 hours.

All types! Here at the detail dorks we are not necessarily married to any brand for tools or products. We are constantly testing out new products and tools so that we can determine if they are worth adding to our line up. Higher priced tools and products do not necessarily mean they are better or that it is superior. So we use tools and products you may have heard of before and others that are not so common. If you see it in our line up, we have definitely put it through the wringer!
